More reasons to choose Workday and run screaming away from SAP

Yet another example, if we needed one, of a business in trouble because of a SAP implementation. And this article doesn’t mention the 100 million euros (thats about 150 million US dollars) that was poured down the drain in the Irish Health Service a couple of years ago on – have you guessed it? – a SAP implementation gone bad.  Want to consolidate your ERP systems into one, cut costs and get off the horribly expensive upgrade treadmill? Want your business to remain healthy, as opposed to going into financial meltdown? Choose Workday. Yes, I work for Workday, but no, I’m not biased. I just have a brain and I use it.

OSGi and legacy code

Interesting question from Peter Kriens on OSGi and its mechanisms, present and perhaps future, for dealing with legacy code. I am reminded of the KISS principle. Having said that, we recently had to make use of Eclipse buddies here for Workday Integration Studio. The buddy mechanism is definitely a legacy dig-out.

Oracle putting Eclipse-based WebLogic Workshop out to grass

Apparently, Oracle is putting the Eclipse-based WebLogic Workshop out to grass in favour of JDeveloper. If this wasn’t so sad, it would be hilariously funny. Wait a second … it is hilariously funny. To call this dumb would be a insult to the term.
