TIOBE Index shows Groovy adoption growing rapidly
June 12, 2007
Groovy is gaining ground fast according to the most recent TIOBE Index. It has jumped from language 103 to 52. The fundamental strength of the language – that it was conceived and built from the ground up to work natively and elegantly with Java – is clearly resonating with Java developers. The fact that it has passed through a JSR(-241) gives adopters a strong view of its long term viability, coupled with how easy it is for Java developers to learn and start using quickly.
